Delisting: The tribal organization wants to delist, know the final reason?

The campaign of tribal organizations has intensified on the issue of Delisting in the country. Its effect is also visible in Jharkhand. Ulgulan Tribal Delisting (डीलिस्टिंग) Maharally will be organized on 24th December regarding delisting. Maha rally will be organized at Morhabadi ground in Ranchi. Former MP Padmashree Kadiya Munda, the chief patron of Tribal Suraksha Manch, said that this is a campaign against religious conversion as part of a conspiracy by a large population of the tribal community. The platform has claimed that 1 lakh people from the tribal community will gather in the organized Maharally.

He further said that the main agenda of the Maharally is to remove the population converting to Christianity, Islam, or any other religion from the reservation facilities given to the tribals as per the constitutional provisions. Kadia Munda said that as soon as a person adopts Christianity, he abandons his values. A person who abandons his traditional 16 rituals from birth to death ceases to be a tribal, hence a person who is not a tribal should not get the benefit of reservation. Let us tell you that Tripura’s Adivasi Suraksha Manch has announced a rally on 25th December regarding delisting.

Tribal Delisting (डीलिस्टिंग)

Kadia Munda said that there is a provision for reservation and other facilities in the Constitution for the development and progress of more than 700 tribes in the country. Unfortunately, the converted people are getting the benefits of these facilities instead of the tribals. Converts are people who have left their customs, traditions, and culture and become Christians or Muslims. Tribal Security Forum says that customs laws, forest rights, and other provisions have been made to empower the tribes, but the converts have abandoned their culture, faith, and traditions and become Christians or Muslims. Such people are availing 80 percent benefits of reservation and other facilities.

Former MP Kadiya Munda said that we want to delist from the government. He said that government jobs are less, hence it would be an injustice if people who left customs and traditions and became Christians or Muslims took the benefit of reservation. Young tribal leader Sunny Oraon said that people who have converted to Christianity stand for tribal reserved assembly and Lok Sabha seats. The tribal youth leader also talked about Bangladeshi infiltration in Santal Pargana. Along with this he said that we only want our rights, we also want those who converted to religion to return home. The issue of delisting is increasing in tribal states.

What is Delisting:

In simple language, delisting means that those who are continuously enjoying the benefits of the reservation after converting their religion should be removed from the list of tribals. This means people belonging to the Scheduled Tribe category who have converted to the religion. Those who still take advantage of reservations for the Scheduled Tribe category at the cost of the sting. Such people should be deprived of reservation by delisting. The benefit of the reservation should be given only to such tribal people who have not converted to their religion and who are still tribal. Delisting movement is being run across the country with this demand.
